Will there be a Christmas market in Prague Castle in 2025/2026?

The Prague Castle Christmas markets haven’t been held for 3 years, and it does not look like there will be one this year, sadly! The castle guards are going to decorate a Christmas tree behind the Cathedral of Saint Vitus, and we believe there will be some fairy lights put up, but the Advent festivities are not going to be held in the castle courtyards.

Pro Tips for Visiting Prague’s Christmas Markets

  • Dress warmly, with layered clothing and comfy shoes.

  • ATM and card payments are common at larger squares, but carry some cash for smaller stalls.

  • Weekday mornings bring the calmest shopping; evenings offer the most atmosphere and best food options.
