This tour delves into key moments of the 20th century, including the Munich Agreement, the Nazi occupation, the heroic Czechoslovak resistance, life under the Communist regime, and the peaceful Velvet Revolution.

Starting in Lesser Town at the Winged Lion Memorial, the route takes you through the historic streets of the Jewish Quarter and Old Town, and ends in New Town at the Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror, near the iconic Dancing House. The emotional highlight of the tour is a visit to the crypt where the brave paratroopers of Operation Anthropoid made their final stand.

  • A free walking tour is a guided sightseeing tour where there’s no upfront cost to join. Instead of paying a fixed fee, you’re encouraged to tip your guide at the end based on how much you enjoyed the experience and what you feel it was worth.

  • 100 Spires City Tours guides accept Czech crowns in cash as well as card payments. They also accept euros and other currencies that can be exchanged in Prague (e.g., USD, pounds, etc.). Some guides also have PayPal, Revolut, and other forms of cashless payment available. Please note that Venmo does not operate in the Czech Republic.

  • Free tours are designed for individual travelers and small groups, so 100 Spires City Tours require a prepayment to ensure your attendance, as larger groups are more likely to cancel or show up with fewer participants. This is a standard rule for most free tours all around the world. If this applies to you, please reserve for a Large Group.

    100 Spires City Tours charges 12 euros per adult and 5 euros per child. Please respect this rule, as they may reject customers who make separate reservations to avoid the booking fee.

    Please note that you need to cancel the whole reservation or part of it 24 hours in advance in order to receive a refund.

  • Yes! Please note that the tour covers a longer distance and that the Paratroopers memorial at the end of the tour is not accessible.

  • Absolutely! Please note that the Paratroopers memorial 100 Spires City Tours visits at the end does not allow dogs inside.

  • 100 Spires City Tours WWII and Communism Tour does not cover the interiors of synagogues (since those serve as museums now, and you can only enter with the museum ticket)

  • Please note that invoices must be arranged directly with your guide immediately after the tour finishes. Our partner 100 Spires is unable to provide an invoice otherwise.
