Tour Itinerary
We begin the tour in front of the Schwarzenberg Palace at Hradčany Square.
St. Vitus Cathedral - Enter Prague’s most important Gothic cathedral and learn about its royal history, chapels, stained-glass windows, tombs, and role in Czech state ceremonies.
Old Royal Palace -Explore the former centre of royal government and see the historic halls associated with the kings of Bohemia, including Vladislav Hall when open.
St. George’s Basilica - Visit one of the oldest surviving churches at Prague Castle and hear how its Romanesque architecture and Benedictine history fit into the development of the castle complex.
Golden Lane - Walk along the colourful historic houses of Golden Lane and learn about the craftsmen, guards, and residents who once lived there. After the guided portion ends, you may continue visiting its exhibitions and small shops at your own pace.
Meeting Point
We meet in front of the Schwarzenberg Palace (map directions: Schwarzenberg Palace, Prague Castle).
Look for a red umbrella with “100” written on it.
How to get there
By Tram: Take tram 22 or 23 to Brusnice or Pražský hrad stop and walk 5-7 minutes to Hradčanské náměstí.
By Foot: From Charles Bridge, expect about a 25-minute walk uphill through Lesser Town and Nerudova Street. A shortcut via the New Castle steps (directions for maps: Zámecké schody) will save you about 5-10 minutes. We do not recommend choosing the uphill route if you have mobility issues or use a wheelchair!
By taxi: Give the driver this address — Loretánská 173/1, Prague 1. You will be dropped off a few minutes away from the meeting point.
Do not order a cab to the Schwarzenberg Palace if you have mobility issues, as drivers often drop customers off below the hill at Nerudova street.
If you can’t find your guide or you’re running late, please call or message us before the tour starts.

Prague Castle Tour FAQs
What is included in the Prague Castle tour?
This 3-hour guided tour includes visits to the main historic interiors of Prague Castle:
St. Vitus Cathedral.
The Old Royal Palace.
St. George’s Basilica.
Golden Lane.
The Prague Castle interior admission ticket is included in the tour price. Your licensed local guide will provide historical context, explain the significance of each site, and assist with the ticket process during the visit.
The tour is limited to a maximum of 12 guests, allowing for a more personal experience and making it easier to hear your guide throughout the castle complex.
Where does the Prague Castle tour start?
The tour starts in front of Schwarzenberg Palace on Hradčany Square, near Prague Castle.
Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. Look for the guide with the red umbrella marked “100.”
You can reach Hradčany Square by tram. Tram 22 and other routes serve stops in the Hradčany and Prague Castle area, but routes may change, so please check current Prague public transport information before travelling.
How long is the Prague Castle tour?
The guided tour lasts approximately 3 hours.
The tour includes walking between the main buildings, time inside the historic interiors, and explanations from your guide. The tour ends at Golden Lane, where you may continue exploring independently after the guided portion has finished.
Does the tour skip the security line?
The tour does not guarantee priority access through Prague Castle security screening or immediate entry to every building. No company can provide priority access.
Your guide will assist with purchasing or collecting the included Prague Castle interior admission tickets at the designated ticket desk for guides. This may help your group avoid the regular ticket-purchasing queue, but security checks and entrance procedures remain controlled by Prague Castle.
During busy periods, some waiting may still be necessary. Please allow additional time if you have a scheduled activity immediately after the tour.
Is Prague Castle accessible by wheelchair?
The tour includes uphill streets, cobblestones, uneven surfaces, stairs, and walking through historic buildings. Some parts of Prague Castle may not be fully accessible to wheelchairs, mobility scooters, or strollers.
If you use a wheelchair, have reduced mobility, or plan to bring a stroller, please contact us at info@100spirescitytours.cz or WhatsApp at +420776488217 before booking. We can explain the current route and advise whether the tour is suitable for your needs.
What happens if part of Prague Castle is closed?
Prague Castle interiors may occasionally close because of official ceremonies, exhibitions, security measures, religious services, maintenance, or other circumstances beyond our control.
If one of the advertised interiors is closed during your visit, that part of the itinerary cannot be visited. The remaining locations will be visited as planned, where possible.
The itinerary may therefore change slightly, and the tour may finish earlier if an advertised interior is unavailable. No refund is provided for individual attractions that are closed by Prague Castle authorities.
Is the tour suitable for children?
Children are welcome on the Prague Castle tour. However, the experience involves several hours of walking, standing, cobblestones, and stairs.
Please consider your child’s age and mobility when booking. Strollers may not be allowed on some parts of the route.
What should I bring to the tour?
Please bring:
Your booking confirmation.
Comfortable walking shoes.
Weather-appropriate clothing.
A valid physical ID or student card if you have booked a reduced-price ticket.
Water, particularly during warm weather.
Large luggage are not be suitable for the route and may not be permitted inside certain Prague Castle buildings. Pets are not allowed.
Where does the tour end?
The guided tour ends at Golden Lane inside Prague Castle.
After the tour, you may continue visiting Golden Lane and its exhibitions independently, subject to the castle’s opening hours and operating conditions. You can then leave the complex through one of the available exits or continue exploring Prague Castle on your own.
Are Prague Castle tickets included in the price?
Yes. The Prague Castle interior admission ticket is included in the advertised tour price.
The ticket covers the interiors included in the planned itinerary. It does not necessarily include every exhibition, palace, temporary event, or separately ticketed attraction within the wider Prague Castle complex.
What happens if I arrive late?
The group enters Prague Castle together, so late arrivals may be unable to join the tour once it has started.
Please arrive at the meeting point 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time. If you expect to be late, contact us at info@100spirescitytours.cz or WhatsApp at +420776488217 as soon as possible, but we cannot guarantee that the guide will be able to wait.
Can I get a refund?
You are eligible for a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the tour's starting time. For last-minute cancellations, we can only reimburse a portion of the ticket price. Contact us at info@100spirescitytours.cz
Can I get a discount if I purchase Prague Visitor Pass or Prague CoolPass?
Our guide won’t be granted free access to the castle interiors unless they purchase tickets for their group at the castle's cash desk; therefore, we ask the pass holders to contact us in advance to make sure we can accept them.
